Mission and History
It is our mission to write, develop and produce daring theatre that arouses a sense of awareness and curiosity about our society.
RIPE Theatre was founded by Noah Kelly and Sarah McKereghan in 2000 because as artists we were hungry. Years after studying together at Humboldt State University we both found ourselves acting in San Francisco but artistically unsatisfied and wanting more. We joined forces and returned to the roots of our education which focused on a process driven approach to creating original, self-produced theatre.
In 2005 we became a Company in Residence at EXIT Theatre in San Francisco, also home to the San Francisco International Fringe Theatre Festival, DIVAfest and many other amazing and wonderful theatrical adventures. We believe EXIT Theatre and Artistic Director, Christina Augello's generous and fearless support of small theatre companies like ours is what keeps SF Bay Area Theatre thriving.
